The Daily Grind

Sleep has always been a luxury to me. What with so many things to be done, 24 hours is not even enough. When I go inside my bedroom, it means that my body is already craving for rest and peace. If there is one thing that I would like for my coming birthday, that would be a treadmill at home. A treadmill at my disposal, whenever I feel like running or brisk walking. In the past, when I feel like walking, I would go out of the house and walk around the neighborhood. With the state of the economy today, walking around the neighborhood is like inviting danger to happen to you. There are so many unemployed people these days that someone out there is bound to rob you blind. Now, I don’t want that to happen to me. I would rather do the exercise at home.

I wish someone will give me a treadmill next week.

My sister has pimple scars brought about by a mild acne that popped out when she was just seventeen. Right now, she still has some pimple scars. She is having it treated by a dermatologist friend and hopefully, will get rid of it soon. Luckily, I did not suffer from acne. I thank God that I got my mother’s skin. If you could see my grandma, you will surely notice that her skin is smooth. She, my mom and me are blessed with clear, smooth skin.

Working at home has many advantages. Aside from the fact that expenses are at a minimum, you can also add more jobs as long as you can still handle it. That’s what my sister is doing at the moment. She’s dabbling at a couple of things aside from her consultancy work. She now helps her clients get promotional products as well. She also helps them formulate marketing strategies based on information the company provides her. She writes a book, do reviews and help students with their feasibility studies. Now that’s an enterprising person!

When my friend Jerie told me all about her previous skin problems, primarily acne, I did not believe her at first. I mean, seeing her now, with her flawless smooth skin and ivory-like face, you will never ever say that she had acne. The acne cream that she told me about did the trick. But she had to do bi-weekly check ups with her dermatologist before the smooth skin surfaced. The sessions with her dermatologist cost a lot of money but as she put it, it was well worth the money.

Friends and relatives always go to me when they need something to be researched about. I am accommodating but there are days when I am swamped with work and doing a favor for anyone is out of the question. A friend of mine went to our house last weekend, asking for help with regards to a research done on Orovo detox. Normally, I would have said yes right away. She knows that. But since I am literally neck-deep in pending tasks, doing the research will drown me completely. I told her the truth and promised her my help in other future researches. She had the gall to get angry with me! I just ignored her and I hope that the next time we see each other, she’ll have the grace to apologize to me.

What is it with the second half of the year that kids keep springing up from nowhere? Just kidding! I just can’t keep up with the number of godchildren I have been accumulating with each passing day. At last count, I already have around fifty. Yes, fifty! The kids are blessings. That’s why when I went shopping a couple of months ago, I already stocked on baby gifts, knowing that time and time again I will need one. I already have a drawer full of these gifts and all I need to do is put a name on it. Neat, huh?

Bessie paints. She sketches as well. With her many works of art, we’ve been pestering her to display some of it. Even those ones she is willing to display for everyone to see. We are asking her to put some of her sketches in picture frames, especially those sensual sketches that she did. A work of art indeed, I tell you! I will see if I can convince her to put up even one of it here. She is a bit shy with her works and we are really hoping that she overcomes it. She is really good. She just cannot accept that fact yet.
