A home of our own

Are you looking for mortgage lenders? A friend of mine does. He got married almost two years ago and of course, he wants to be able to provide his wife a home of their own. His wife is pregnant so that adds up to his desire to get a home where they can bring the baby to after delivery. I can understand their desire. For years we lived with some relatives and when we transferred to our own home, it was a moment we will all never forget.

Weight loss battle

Friends and relatives always go to me when they need something to be researched about. I am accommodating but there are days when I am swamped with work and doing a favor for anyone is out of the question. But since I am literally neck-deep in pending tasks, doing the research will drown me completely. I told her the truth and promised her my help in other future researches. She had the gall to get angry with me! I just ignored her and I hope that the next time we see each other, she’ll have the grace to apologize to me.

Baby gifts stock

What is it with the second half of the year that kids keep springing up from nowhere? Just kidding! I just can’t keep up with the number of godchildren I have been accumulating with each passing day. At last count, I already have around fifty. Yes, fifty! The kids are blessings. That’s why when I went shopping a couple of months ago, I already stocked on baby gifts, knowing that time and time again I will need one. I already have a drawer full of these gifts and all I need to do is put a name on it. Neat, huh?

Doubting Bessie

Bessie paints. She sketches as well. With her many works of art, we’ve been pestering her to display some of it. Even those ones she is willing to display for everyone to see. We are asking her to put some of her sketches in picture frames, especially those sensual sketches that she did. A work of art indeed, I tell you! I will see if I can convince her to put up even one of it here. She is a bit shy with her works and we are really hoping that she overcomes it. She is really good. She just cannot accept that fact yet.

Kids these days…

The little cousins are clamoring for the latest ipods that they saw on the net. Kids these days… you’d be amazed at how updated they are with regards to technology. My little cousins would ask for the latest gadgets from their parents. They are not into kids’ toys anymore. Computer games and ipods and stuff like that. Sometimes, I wonder if it will have a negative effect on them, these gadgets. I mean, they should be out of the house playing with kids their age. Instead, they stay at home and trade gaming hacks and compare their latest gadgets.

Oh well…

Disappointed with a staff

When I was doing the rounds of staff appraisal the other day, I was deeply disappointed with one that I thought has a great deal of dedication for work. You see, almost everyday, I could see this guy who works indirectly for me, very busy. I was amazed that even during lunch breaks, he hardly ever gets up from his cubicle. I thought that he was really busy but when I was doing my rounds, without the staff’s knowledge, I caught him drooling over this Sony Vaio over the internet. At first, I thought that maybe he was just taking a break. Well, I caught him four times within a span of three hours drooling over different gadgets over the internet. He was joining an auction site and looking all busy, fooling us all with his serious facade. I was the one that really got disappointed because I really thought that he was dedicated to his work. Well, looks can really be deceiving.

Feeling neglected

For the past eight months, I have been working nonstop. There’s an ongoing monster project in our office and I am one of those heading it. Naturally, I am aiming for a 200% performance. I don’t do things half heartedly. I am never known for mediocre performance. And because of this, my best friend is feeling neglected. We take trips once a month, going to a place we have never been to. It is a pact that we made in high school, until one of us gets married. Since we are both still single, we are keeping our promise to each other. But lately, she hardly speaks to me. She told me that she only wanted to give me some space so I can concentrate on work but I know that she’s feeling neglected already. I am thinking of searching for cruise deals so we can take one by next month, after the monster project wraps up. I just wish she’ll stretch her patience some more.
