A different path

I was surprised to find out that my friend, Dino, has become a furniture salesman. The last time I saw him, he told me that he would be pursuing a different path. I didn’t know that he will make a drastic change in careers. He was a seaman.

When we saw each other again, he was offering me a tv lift cabinet from the collection he is selling. What he does now is, he puts together a collection of furniture that will fit a room in the house and when you are interested, he can put it together for you. Sort of like redecorating a whole room in the house.

Sounds interesting, no? I am just surprised because I’ve never seen this domesticated creative side of him.

In front of the tv

I really want that leather home theater seating for me. I love watching movies. I love watching cable tv. And I believe I have found the best seats for me!

You all know that there are days when I feel like just sitting in front of the tv and doing nothing but be a couch potato for hours on end. And if I have to do this thing occasionally, might as well do it in a comfortable seat, don’t you think? I wish someone will give me that as a gift!

Pet puppies

My two female cousins are going gaga over their pet puppies. Both have pomeranian puppies and of course, I already know what to give them this coming Christmas… pet beds! I am sure they will be more than happy to get this gift from me. Every little thing that they can buy for their pets, they do. They both treat the cute little puppies like their own babies. Oh well, I guess it is better that they are busy with their pet dogs than with any other bad things, right?

Cooking with me

Cooking with me is a challenge. I normally don’t cook with my recipe book with me. I am bad with measurements and if I don’t follow the recipe book, chances are I will mess up the recipe. Too bad for me. I hope I will learn how to do it “free style” like what friends do. And I really hope that in time I will learn how to really cook properly.

Viva Las Vegas!

I love Las Vegas! It is a city that is bright and colorful and seemingly, always wide awake. Which is what I love when we have our Vegas vacations. It is something I look forward to. My uncles and aunts also love going there so normally we go to Las Vegas together.

This year, we haven’t gone on a trip to Vegas yet. But I heard the elders talking last weekend that we might go this October. Viva Las Vegas! I can’t wait!

I am looking for…

an HDMI switch. My uncle needs one. And he is asking me to run an errand for me and buy him one. Of course, being the accommodating one in the family, even if I have a lot of things to do, I said yes and will do the errand for him.

This is my role in my rather large, extended family. The errand runner. The accommodating one. What about you, what is your role in the family?

Holiday presents

It’s already August and before you know it, the -ber months will start to roll in. And then, the holiday season will just be around the corner. I normally buy holiday presents as I see something I can give to family and friends. Like talking watches. I also go to bargain sales to look out for low priced items that I can give out as well.

How about you, how do you buy holiday presents?

Moving to the countryside

My uncle and aunt to whom we are very close to will be moving to the province by next month. It was being planned for two years now. Even when their children, my cousins, were still in grade school, they already wanted to move to the province. They are not used to the noise of the city. Even years of stay here in the city, they still yearn for the calm and peace of the countryside. Now that their children are all college graduates and have their own jobs, there is no reason for them to linger in the city.

So they are already preparing for the big move. They are packing all their belongings. Their children, my three cousins, are all living independently. All of them have their condo units. A gift from their parents when they graduated. My aunt and uncle are not that old yet, they are in their 50s but they are old souls. They love the tranquility of the countryside. They are bringing their clothes and their antique collection. I even saw my uncle’s Bandsaw Vertical. We will surely miss them. But the countryside is just an hour and a half away from the city. We can visit them whenever we want.
