The Daily Grind

Our house is full of books. Paperbacks, textbooks, hardbound books… you name it. Not only that. We also have tons of magazines of different topics. My dad is asking us to choose what we can give away because we will soon be overtaken by papers at home! Ha-ha!

Of course, I can let go of the magazines. And the textbooks. But for my novels… no way! I will find a way to organize it so as to save space but giving it away is not an option for me.

Who will say no to a Sferra? Not me! I would love to have a lot of this brand if I can only afford it. Of course, I can’t! So I asked a filthy rich friend to give me one hehe

I just got this idea from a friend who celebrated her 30th birthday last year like me. She held a really fabulous extravagant party and she requested a gift list to be set up for her where her guests can choose to pick something from the list. Brilliant, don’t you think?

My parents were talking about Vegas vacations the other night. They thought they were alone but I was still reading a book that time using my ebook reader. They are planning to bring us along and it will be a surprise they will announce by summer vacation. I am so excited! I pretended to be asleep when they walked beside the couch I was sitting on.

I have been hearing a lot of words related to cars and with a car attached to it lately. My cousins from the province are here visiting and they have been converging in my room, yakking until the early morning about cars, SCX slot cars and engines, machines and car racing. I don’t think they will get tired of talking about these things. And I doubt they will leave my room anytime soon. Mine is the only room in the house with an air conditioner.

Our office is looking to make every corner of it filled with luck. My boss is a Chinese businessman who believes in Feng Shui. Last week, he had wall fountains installed on the East and South side of the office. For good luck, according to the expert he consulted with. He also put some other items in different corners of the office to ward off bad luck. Every thing’s cool with me, especially the wall fountains. It feels like being outdoors now in the office because of it.

We are putting up a sign saying “small business for sale” outside our offices. I belong right now in a company that has a host of smaller companies under it. One of those companies is an online gift shop that my boss’s daughter was managing before. She’s leaving to study abroad and the small business she opened is now being sold. If only I have the money to buy it and operate it, I would have done so in an instant.

Gino, a cousin of mine, can’t stop talking about coilovers. Apparently, he’s been reading about it for a few days now and would want to try out his knowledge of it. Gino is the wonder kid of the family. He would learn something in theory and after making sure he has a grasp of the basics, he will try it out. 90% of the time, he was successful. And we are so proud of this talent of him because it has landed him with an article in a prestigious business magazine in the country.

I was so sleepy when my friend was yakking on the phone the other night, talking my head off about a discovery she made, Stimerex ES. I heard the first part of her blab but when she was droning on and on about her diet program, I tuned her out. This friend of mine can go on and on about something she’s currently passionate about and you will never be able to slip in even a single word when she gets started. That’s what happened the other night. Good thing she realized I had work the next day or she would have gone on until morning, I guess.
