While on the road about a month ago, my road trip partner told me about the Suburban extended stay hotel. I thought it would be really great to get some rest after two weeks of driving from town to town. An extended stay sounded great to me. But then I got a call from a client that needed my immediate attention. The extended had to be cramped into a day and my disappointment had to be swallowed whole.

Reading about so many things can help a person a lot, especially when she’s thrown in a gathering where people expect him or her to be articulate. Mae enrolled in a speech power class a couple of years ago. Do you know that aside from being a wide reader, she is now articulate in almost all topics except politics. You can ask her about mesothelioma and she can carry a normal conversation with you and would come out as someone very knowledgeable about the topic. I envy her!
Sher and her whole family went to the beach last weekend. You can see the change the trip, albeit a short one, did to her energy level. She is now more raring to go to work than before the trip. I always say that we should go on weekend getaways from time to time. You know, to rest and recharge for the coming weeks ahead. I will be going on mine this coming weekend. Hooray!
There are fewer job openings these days but jobs in IT are still in demand so Yong was able to get a decent job offer last December. It was all so sudden, requiring him to go the day after Christmas. We were both sad and happy for him. Sad because we planned a birthday party for him. His birthday falls five days after Christmas. So you can just imagine what we did to be able to squeeze it in the Christmas celebration. We were also very happy because the job signals the start of fulfilling his dreams.
I was surprised to see the most recent photo of my cousin who’s now working abroad. He’s grown big! As in big in the tummy area! I was teasing him that it is time for him to check out weight loss pills so he can go back to his old form. He used to be the ultimate hunk: lanky framed yet muscled and you’d see right away that he’s totally fit. I guess missing home can do that to you… eat more!
I must admit that I am a worrier. Whenever I see someone as much as grimace at home, I worry right away! I worry that they might be hiding something that’s hurting them. An illness perhaps. I worry especially for my dad. That’s why I buy him healthy food as much as possible. I am now checking colon cleanse if he might be in need of one already. There’s nothing better than prevention. So if there is something I can do to prevent a major illness of someone I love, I’d do it!
It feels like Christmas in the office right now! One of the bosses is giving away gift cheques for free hotel rooms! We learned that our boss got his inheritance and was surprised to find out he got more than what he’s expecting. Wow! As a way of sharing his blessings, he is giving away 20 gift cheques for hotel accommodation. Local hotels only but still…
