Did some scrubbing

Because internet time is limited for me due to the devastation left by the tropical storm that hit the country, I’ve been checking stuff at home. I think that we need to replace our kitchen sink. There are stains on it already that even a good scrubbing can’t remove. I did some scrubbing including the bathroom tiles.

My sister was teasing me that when there’s no internet, they can rely on me to clean the house. Hahaha

Sleepless nights

I am having sleepless nights because of the terrible storm that hit the country last weekend. I have dark circles around my eyes that I am compelled to bring out the eye cream to lighten it. I don’t know if this is being paranoid but I am insisting on being awake when everyone’s asleep. So that at least one of us is awake should another raging storm would hit the country. I want to be safe than sound asleep unaware of what’s happening.

Focused on family life

A friend of mine is focused when it comes to spending quality time with his family. I actually admire the man for that. He travels as a salesperson and when he gets home, he makes sure that it’s quality time with his wife and kids. He made an rv repair and then they’re off to the rv parks for some barbeque party with their friends. When he was telling me about it, I can see in his face how happy he is with his family life. I told him that I wish I can have the same in the future.

Another storm brewing

City Life / Comments Off

Another storm is brewing and according to the weather bureau, it will land on Saturday afternoon. So it will be another wet weekend for us here in the city. I am hoping it won’t be as bad as the previous storms, leaving so many devastated. Evacuation centers are filled with families who are victims of the flooding in different cities and provinces. Some even drowned.

I don’t know how to swim and it scares the hell out of me whenever I see flood waters higher than a person. I always pray that it won’t happen in our place or when we are out of the house.

I am determined to bring more traffic to this blog of mine. I have already started by joining memes. And then I will be signing up in a free web directory for additional visitors. You can never go wrong with web directories because for sure, there will be people online who will be using it one way or another.

I just hope the ones who will visit this blog are legitimate visitors and not spammers haha

Missed it!

sconces

I missed my aunt’s birthday last week! She is a favorite aunt of mine. She’s a sweet lady who always asks us what we want to eat and she’ll whip it up in minutes. She’s a gracious host, too. I thought I’d buy wall candle sconces for her since she loves scented candles so much. And then I will head on over to her house to give it to her. Possibly get a bite or two of whatever she cooked for the day hehe

Pup, lovebirds and a St. Bernard

A pet supplies store opened near my home. It’s also a pet shop and they are selling cute little puppies and love birds. My sister is now clamoring for a puppy. Our little girl wants a pair of the lovebirds. The latter I already bought. But the pup will have to wait. It’s a bit pricey for me.

I have never been a pet person. I would love to have my own pet dog but a big one. Like a St. Bernard. I want a companion dog and not the small ones. But not now. I would really feel guilty if I neglect my pet. Better be honest to myself that I can’t take care of another being right now.

Fresh air and dews

dew

Missing the countryside again. Every few weeks, I feel the need for some fresh air. For the past week or so, heavy rains poured down the whole country. I know that the grass is greener now in the countryside. There are dews on those leaves and grass. And everything is cleaner than before.

If only I can take off at a moment’s notice and to hell with tomorrow, I’d be off to the countryside now.

For her peace of mind

My friend is always worried when she has to leave her kids with a nanny. She and her husband are both working and their three kids are left to a nanny when they’re at work. I can understand her predicament. I know that she has to look out for her kids but at the same she needs to help her husband, especially now that their eldest will be starting pre-K next year. I told her that she can get a video surveillance equipment if she really wants to know if the nanny is taking care of their kids. We’ve been seeing some pretty nasty news reports about nannies abusing their charges. Or leaving them unattended when they should be taking care of the kids. Of course, most nannies are really great. But then there are some who are exceptions to the norm. She’s thinking about investing in the equipment for her own peace of mind.

All natural and then some

Brisk walking is good for me. I used to do this when I was still working for this company. Unfortunately, that road where I used to walk on is now peppered with dubious people lining the street. I would rather get the best diet pills and drink it than put myself in danger by brisk walking on that road again.

I’m all for natural remedies. Exercise, a healthy diet… but if there’s help that we can get to fast track things, then why not try it, right? I’m also an open-minded person and I won’t say no to something that will make me lose weight as long as it’s legal.
