I finally called up my friend cum insurance agent to ask for a free life insurance quote. I need it. I mentioned in a previous post that I plan to get one. And that life insurance is a must. I am taking steps into correcting mistakes in my life. I want everything to be right and positive this 2010. It’s the year to start a good life.

I have been passive for the past year and a half. My sisters were chiding me for being lazy. Not anymore! I plan to enjoy life better this coming year. Travel. Have fun. Be healthy.

This coming 2010, I will make sure that I work doubly hard, and party harder! I am more about a fun and healthy lifestyle for the year to come. I have resolved to stop being passive and lethargic all the time. I will do everything in my power to change the lifestyle I am used to.

I know I can do this as long as I focus. If I have to remind myself every single minute to be healthy, then I will! At the end of the day, I want it all to be fun, too.

A life insurance is a must. I always keep in mind the situation my best friend was in. His mother died and he thought he would be incurring loan after loan to finance the burial and pay off the hospital bill. Guess what? My best friend didn’t need to apply for a loan anymore. Turned out his mom took out five different life insurance policies and made her only son the beneficiary of each one. He was able to use one policy for the burial and hospital bill. The rest saved for his future. He was able to buy a condo unit from the four policies.

Imagine that!

I would like my dad and my siblings to have something to fall back on should something happen to me. So a life insurance is a must. This 2010, I resolve to get one.

It’s so hard to be sick while worrying about the tons of tasks you still have to do. I have been sick for weeks! I think the unhealthy lifestyle caught up with me and my body gave in. I haven’t been sick this long. I would like to think that this is a wake-up call for me to ditch the unhealthy food and adopt the healthy ones.

Yes, no more sugar for me! Rice will be limited. There will be more cut backs from my food intake. I need this lest I get the diabetes I am dreading. Or worse, cancer

There are jobs philly to choose from. That’s what I told a friend of mine who’s losing hope of ever finding a job. I believe there are people who are easily depressed. My friend lost her job five weeks ago. She already applied in a couple of jobs but was declined in most of it. Two of the companies are making her wait. But either one has yet to call after two weeks. So she is in a state of depression right now.

But I told her that all she has to do is keep looking and sooner or later, she will land a job, the right kind of job at that.

My sister got two coffee makers on their Christmas party. One from a co-worker, and another one from a student. She also got numerous body products like lotions, body wash, shampoos, body scrubs and many more. There are also boxes of chocolate, bags, shirts, and Christmas gift bag containing items for Noche Buena.

I have wanted to be a teacher. In fact, I was accepted at a university before but backed out at the last minute to accept a corporate job instead. I wonder what my life would have been had I pursued my dream of teaching. Or becoming a journalist.

My uncle works abroad. From time to time, my aunt calls him up, to check by phone if he’s okay, doing good where he is at. I know this because my cousin who’s with my uncle tells me about it. My uncle is homesick and would want to go home. But since he’s incurred quite a number of loans here, he needs to pay it all up first before going home and terminating his contract.

Such is the life of an ordinary undergraduate. Education is really important because unless you are extremely talented like Manny Pacquiao or Efren “Bata” Reyes, you need a diploma to carry you far in life.

One of my closest male friends is into cigars. Drew Estate cigars to be specific. He got a taste for it when he went on a vacation outside the country with his work buddies. They tried it and he’s since been lighting up from time to time. This holiday season, I am thinking of giving him a box of it. I am sure he will be happy when he opens the gift box!

When you live in the city, what little happiness you can get out of the mundane you really take advantage of. And since my friend finds happiness in lighting up a cigar from time to time, why not give it to him?

I remember my former flatmate who’s so particular when it comes to product brands. She wants only a Toto toilet for her and nothing else. When she goes out and has to use the toilet, she brings with her a portable toilet sheet that she can dispose of after. If she forgets to bring it, expect her to go to the nearest convenience store to buy one first or she will go back to the flat if she can. She is that particular.

She’s married now and I saw her husband a few weeks back. He told me that she’s still the same and that it drives him and their kid crazy most of the time. When he said goodbye, I breathed a sigh of relief. It’s hard living with someone who’s that particular with things. You can really literally go crazy dealing with her.
