Moms

My friends are all close to their moms. I was, too, when my mom was still alive. I remember we used to compare what mother’s day gift we gave our moms. It was a ritual that we still do year after year, even now that I no longer have a mom to give a gift to on this special occasion.

It is hard to lose a mother. You won’t realize it until you find something at home messy because your mom is the only one who keeps it clean and organized. Or that the closet seemed all of a sudden in disarray plus you can’t find the pair of jeans you love so much. That’s because your mom was the only one at home who knows these things.

I miss my mom!

Creative designers

I love how creative interior designers can be! I saw a display of a living room at a place I frequent. The designer used printed boxes as the only splash of color in a relatively black and white living room. When you read about it, you’d think it might be boring. Black and white. Blah. But when you see it (too bad I forgot to take a picture of it!), it will come off as funky to you.

I am a frustrated interior designer. That’s why I love visiting showrooms and looking at photos of interiors on the net.

Condo living

My sister and I were discussing about condominium living. She is very much interested in getting a condo unit from a newly built building near the school where she’s teaching. It’s actually a few blocks away from where we currently live.

CondoLiving

The thing with condo living is that first, the space is fixed. You cannot add to it. What little space you got from the start will be the same space you have for the rest of your condo living time. Second, the disproportionate cost of the property against the number of square meters you are getting. I haven’t seen a unit that is inexpensive! I understand the developers need to get back their investment but sometimes, the price of a unit borders on being extremely ridiculous! Lastly, the increase in cost of living. Whereas before you only pay for the utilities at home, with condo living, you also get to pay for association dues and other maintenance fees from the building.

I also have this fear of being trapped at the floor you are on when an emergency happens. Silly but this thing happened in the past and could happen anytime now.

Sure, I would love to get a unit if I have the money. It can be an investment. But to rely on it to become your home for a long time? I don’t think so.

journey_ahead

She is preparing for a journey ahead. A journey of a lifetime. She is getting married soon and is getting ready for the roller-coaster that is called married life.

She is taking a quick weight loss product. She wants to look good on her wedding day. She’s been getting beauty massages every now and then to relieve the stress of preparing for one. She’s doing everything to make sure that she will shine on the day she will start a new chapter of her life.

Girl talks

My two close friends from high school and I will be spending Friday night together. There will be lots of catching up to do for sure. Girl talks about our love lives, clothes, shoes, bags, accessories, entertainment, and so much more. I know one of them will be giving me a pair of Hudson jeans. Yes!

I always find that my stress flies through the window when I am with my closest friends. The hours go by without us noticing it. And there’s always something that you haven’t talked about even though you often see each other. That’s the beauty of having people around you that you’ve been friends with for over a decade now.

Starved!

One of my office co-workers is starving herself. It was painful to watch! She always looks hungry to me. Her eyes are already bulging out of their sockets. She’s always cranky and you can tell it has to do with her hunger. Several people in the office have been approaching her, asking her to just take safe weight loss pills instead of not eating completely. She said that she’s eating but only crackers and water. Good luck on that!

I find myself starving whenever I had to finish a report. Or after a grueling day at work. That’s why I can’t imagine how she is doing it. How she’s managed to stay standing and thinking when her body is craving for food. She must be a paragon of self-discipline!

DiningArea

I have been gathering ideas for my condo unit. I have plans of buying one this year. A condo unit where I can stay at with a sibling or two.

Lovely dining area, don’t you think? It is so fresh-looking and clean. Just the way I want my dining area to be. And the sunshine looks to be kissing the walls and furniture. Just the way I love it.

A hassle!

It is such a hassle to have joint pain when you are about to go hiking. Such a hassle!

Pia will be going out of town to hike with her friends. It was too bad that her joints started aching last night. She had an injury during a volleyball match and from then on, she experiences joint pains from time to time. It is not frequent but when it does manifest, when the pain starts, it could attack Pia for days. She is not afraid that because of this, she won’t be able to go with her friends to hike.

This is a lesson for all of us. We really should take care of ourselves more. Pia is still young. She is saving up so she can have her knee checked again.

Temptation everywhere

Temptation is everywhere. You can stay in a closet and there will still be temptation lying around in wait. It’s always been like than since time immemorial. You can just imagine how much temptation there is for me when it comes to food. We live near fast foods and restaurants. And I love good food! I know I am in need of a diet pill that works because if I won’t change my lifestyle, I might end up too big to even enter the door!

Of course, I don’t want that to happen. I am trying to lose weight and cut off on too much food intake. So far, I have been a bit successful on this endeavor. Not much but there are things that are already in the process of helping me lose weight.
