The Daily Grind

I am telling you my friend Sheryl is one of luckiest persons on this planet. She gets whatever she wants! We were just talking about the newest htc desire and how much she would want to have one.

Voila! The other day when I saw her again, she already has one! Thanks to her mom who got her commission for a big real estate property she sold. She asked Sheryl what she wanted and she told her she’d love to have the htc desire. She said it, she got it!

One of my best girl friends will be getting married by end of April 2011. She and her fiance are both excited to walk down the aisle. They’ve been preparing for it for a couple of months now. They actually already sent out the save the date cards to family and friends to make sure that they will all be there on their big day.

And guess what? I won’t be coming just as an ordinary wedding guest. I will be one of the bridesmaids!

I have always dreamed of owning a farm of my own. A place where the whole family can really let their hair down, unwind and relax. Away from the hustle and bustle of city life. Don’t get me wrong. I love my city. I love living in the city! I love the perks that go with living in the city foremost of which are the places a person can go to when bored.

But a farm can provide a place for us to spend time pondering the future. A place for us to retire to. A place for us to live out the rest of our lives if we want to.

Rina plans to buy gold bullion when her next paycheck arrives. She plans to use it as an investment. Rina lives from paycheck to paycheck and she’s tired of the same scenario month after month. She plans to live differently this coming year. She plans to save and invest and be wiser in handling her finances. She will temporarily forgo leisure activities until she has a strong number in her savings account.

It’s time she starts thinking about her future.

This big city girl will be very busy today and for the rest of the week. I have a lot on my plate at the moment. Work, family reunions, weddings, and preparing for my friend’s imminent departure.

These are the days when I kept wishing I have more than 24 hours in a day!

Ian was complaining about his blurry surroundings when he went to his friend’s place. It was a music studio so Ian thought that the place was just way too dark and the glasses where smoked at. But the place was actually clean and the lighting may be dim but still the place was not blurry as he was saying.

It turned out Ian is having problems with his eyesight. He is getting prescription eyeglasses tomorrow. He needs it to see clearly. He used to wear corrective glasses a couple of years ago but he stopped when his eyesight went back to normal. Now, he really has to use one again so he won’t be seeing blurred surroundings only.

I accompanied my friend Jona to a lighting showroom. She wants to check out up close the Kichler outdoor lighting that she saw online. Jona has a thing for good lighting. When you drop by her house, you’d immediately notice that a lot of attention has been put to the lighting. You’ll love it! She was the one who taught me to pay attention to it because it creates a whole range of mood inside the house.

I also learned from her that dim lights is so much better than the one I was used to.

Do you like my new theme in this blog? It’s a friend’s wordpress theme that I tweaked to incorporate a new header and page background into.

What do you think? I chose the header with the coffee cup in it to show that I cannot go about my daily grind without a cup of coffee to start it. It keeps me going. It gives me the energy I need.

Hai. I really love my new theme! I will tweak it some more to change some more colors but this will do for now.

Rey will be applying for one of the accounting finance jobs that he found online. He resigned from his previous job because the company will be relocating and it would be impossible for Rey to go with the company to its new location. He has a family to think of and he cannot just uproot everyone. He has two kids who are in grade and high school and his wife is also working within the city. He cannot very well just leave.

His option is now to look for a new job that fits his qualifications and Rey thinks he already found it online.

I accompanied my friend in shopping for utensils. You know what, I didn’t know that it takes that much time to pick out utensils. Mine were given to me by my parents so I didn’t really choose it myself. But I like what I have. My friend, on the other hand, will be moving in a new home soon so she is preparing for it. She’s starting from scratch so she’s getting everything either brand new or second hand, depending on what she can find.

The utensils will be brand new, of course. As well as the beddings and linens.
