If I can only award them myself, I would have love to give plaques to the men and women deserving of being called modern day heroes!

People returning valuables left (taxi drivers in particular). People helping those who are in an emergency situation. Those who come to someone’s rescue even if he/she felt it was not safe to do so…

There are so many of them. I wish the government gives a token of appreciation for those people. They deserve it!

I am sure you have heard of the Edsa bus bombing, the MRT technical problem, and many cases of police involved in crimes. It is getting scary here in the city.

Is it still safe to live in the city now?

My answer is I don’t know anymore. If you’ve asked me that a couple of months ago, I would have said yes. But with everything’s happening right now, it really makes you ponder the safety of city life. Of course, school and work are here in the city. And family’s here. I just wish something can be done on the crimes happening left and right in the city now.

Always be safe, okay?

I don’t live an extravagant life. I may be earning above average but I don’t live like the source of income is infinite. But there are items that I am indulging myself in. Mostly on food and entertainment (movies, etc.). And lately, on a blackberry storm! I haven’t bought one yet but I am already planning to. The next paycheck will be used to purchase one.

I am using another brand of cellphone right now and I am satisfied with its performance and functionality. But when I saw the blackberry storm, I just know it’s the one I am waiting for!

My sister and I were cleaning out the attic and the storage area at the back of the house last weekend. We already planned it a long time ago, just to free up space at home. Imagine my surprise when I saw the prom dress I wore back in senior high! I guess my mom stored it and thought one of my younger sisters could wear it. But since our school didn’t hold a prom the next year, the dress was probably forgotten already.

I saved the dress and gave it a younger cousin who’s still in high school. It’s a lovely gown and I am sure if dry cleaned it will look like brand new again.

You might have noticed already that almost everything I write in this blog is about city living, my love for architecture and interior designs and my fascination over skyscrapers. Whenever I see a new building within a 10-mile radius, you can trust that I will be the first one to ask about it. New metal buildings a block away? I already know who owns it and what it’s for! My passion for city living is like that.

I can also be a country girl but I think growing up in the city, a huge chunk of me will always be attached to it. Even when I grow old and wrinkled and city life is no longer for me, a huge part of me will still be a city girl through and through.

I know you keep reading about it here that living in the city means cramped spaces in your home. It’s true. I am sure you agree with me on this. That’s why every corner at home is being maximized, functionality-wise. Like the photo above.

You can see that what looks like a plain wall is actually a home-office when opened. Great idea, don’t you think? I love this kind of home-office space, too. Looks cool!

It was probably from too much thinking and analyzing stuff but most of the people in the finance department have forehead wrinkles. You can find them frowning over a report they’re finishing or scowling over a missing dollar. I should know. I have a sister who is an accountant and believe me, she’s a very nice woman but when faced with a deadline for financial reports, she can be a hungry grizzly bear!

She also has forehead wrinkles and I’ve been telling her to do something about it before it spreads all over her face! I think she’s trying to stop herself from frowning too much these days. And she will do something about that forehead of hers.

Jovit finally managed to get rid of his acne. I think a concerned love one told him about it. His bandmates noticed how his acne was worsening and how some of their female audience would tend to gawk at Jovit’s face. They gave him acne treatment creams two Chistmases ago hoping he would catch on but the guy could be pretty clueless. His bandmates were thankful that someone from his love ones told him the meaning of the gift.

Jovit took it seriously. You know, getting his acne treated. He was very happy when he slowly saw the results of each treatment. Slowly, his acne began fading away. Sadly, the scars will remain. Unless he finds a way to get rid of that, too.

China is a friend who is suffering from being overweight. She comes from a rich family and her parents employ one of the best cooks this side of the earth! Her family is also big on sitting down for meals and everyone needs to be at the dinner table for it. How can she avoid the wonderful dishes served when she can see it and smell it and already taste it in her mouth even without touching it with her utensils yet?

China truly needs the best weight loss pills that work if she still wants to fit into her gown. She will be attending an awards ceremony by next month and she feels she’s gained weight from the weekend brunches being held at their home for visiting relatives since the 1st of January. She really needs to put a stop to her binge eating!

This big city girl might be heading up to the mountains this summer. I need a time away from too much noise. Whereas before I don’t mind it, now I hate noise. I can tolerate loud sounds, sure. But if it was senseless and unnecessary…

I think a couple of days up the mountains will do wonders for my clogged mind. The clean, fresh air will give me the boost I need.
