The Daily Grind

This big city girl is really longing for some time outside the city. Leisure time. R&R. A time away from the chaos that is city life. I still can’t live for a long period of time outside the city because I genuinely miss the noise and all that a city life can offer. But a time away from it all would be good for my mind and body.

Describe what you’d do with an extra four hours today.

If I have a car at my disposal, four more hours would mean going just a little bit far from the city. Maybe go to Tagaytay or Subic. Or maybe just a trip to Mall of Asia or somewhere around that area. It would be cool just to drive around, eat out, and then drive some more. Especially at night time when there’s less traffic. Or maybe somewhere in Antipolo.

Driving around would be really good. I miss going on road trips, even one just inside the city limits.

Unlike some people, I love being on the road. I like it more than reaching the destination already. Weird, huh? That’s me!

I am not much of a gamer but when I get hooked on one game, trust me I really get hooked! I will get new psp batteries for extra power because my current diversion is my new psp. I am in a funk for a few weeks already. One day, I just thought I’d do something else and picked up my brother’s psp. From then on, the psp has become a constant companion.

I know I will get over this fixation but for now I am enjoying myself. It will surely get me out of this funk I am still in. Eventually.

A friend who owns the next-door unit in the building I live at had a near-death experience yesterday. It was so profound, what happened to her, that as soon as she went home, she told me that she had to buy life insurance plan right away. She doesn’t want to go unprepared, she told me.

I think everyone who’s had near-death experiences feel the need to do something about their lives. They have to act so that they can feel truly alive again. I am sure that was what my friend felt right after the experience she’s had.

Joe loves anything flashy. So when he parked his car in the neighborhood park, nobody was surprised anymore that his car now sports mht custom wheels. The flashy kind, of course!

It is his passion. Cars and flashy stuff and anything that will satisfy the creative in him. That’s Joe. And everyone who knows him are aware of this. They indulge him and even alerts him if there is something new about the things he loves.

What historical event would you attend if you were able to time travel?

I think I would want to be there when the first People Power EDSA Revolution took place. I am already a kid back then but was at home during the time, of course. It would have been cool to see the very first one in person. That peaceful revolution brought down a dictatorship that lasted for 20 years. The Marcoses slipped out of the country and the government was brought back to the power of the masses. Corazon Aquino, widow of the assassinated Benigno Aquino, Jr., was elected by the people to lead the country for the next 6 years.

It would be such an experience for me to be in the middle of that bloodless revolution that put the Philippines in the radar of the world.

Benjamin is assigned to take care of the SMT Stencils that the company uses for its products. It is a no-brainer and Benjamin was assigned to it because he was the one who is almost always inside the office. He lives nearby and when he feels bored in his apartment, he goes to the office to spend time with the people in the operations department.

He is living a pretty boring life but Benjamin is happy when he is at work. He doesn’t mind being assigned different jobs at work as long as he has monthly income coming in, then he is happy.

Have you noticed how people are now more into electronic payments? Cashless transactions. That’s how they call it. You only need to present a debit or credit card and it will be swiped when you are paying for an item you purchased. When you go shopping online, you only have to key in your debit or credit card number and you are good to go!

I do think it is a safe way to go about shopping these days. Cash attracts bad people. It will be best to carry plastic cards with us than worry about the cash inside our wallets or bags.
