A Social Network for Golfers
My uncle Dong introduced my dad to the world of golf. My dad is actually more of an indoor type of person. He plays chess, domino, backgammon, card games… you get my drift. But I get my love for water sports from him. So whenever our busy schedules permit, we indulge ourselves with a good old dose of water sports. He particularly loves sailing and rowing. But on with the introduction of golf in his life…
So my uncle had this big boys day out with his college buddies and all the male in the family over eighteen years old. My cousin organized a golf cup wherein everyone needs to participate whether you know golf or not. Normally, my dad backs out when forced to do something he doesn’t like. Surprisingly that day, he joined. And even more surprising is that, he liked golf! There were expert golfers that day and one of my cousins got assigned to help my dad and I. It was a fun day for all of us, I tell you. I knew a little of golf but that day, I believe 90% of non-golfers got hooked on the sports. My dad bought his equipment the next day and went on another round of 18 hole with some of his buddies.
When I went home last week, my mom told me that my dad is now scheduling his early Sunday mornings with a trip to the greens.
I believe that he’ll even love golf when I tell him about Stracka.com, A Social Network for Golfers out there. You might be a golfer as well. Check out this site wherein you can meet other golf fans like you.
