To tell you the truth, I am a city girl at heart. Yes, I love the country. But I don’t think I can live for a month straight with little activity or low electricity and all that. I love the hustle and bustle of the city. I love the sounds and the lights. It would have been better without the pollution, I know. Still, city life is the one for me. I know it.
You know how most people don’t like the sound of cars? I love the sound of it! Especially the sound of cars driving pass the house at night. I love the sound of traffic. I love the sound of people going about their business. It’s music to my ears. You probably find it weird but it’s me!
But I would love to have a farm somewhere. For my dad. For family gatherings. To be a sanctuary should the city life becomes too much.
Though, I believe, that no matter what, I will forever be a city girl at heart.

I am totally amazed at how some people can live without the amenities that city life can give. Like electricity, filtered water, the buzz of the streets… the noise I can live without. But the bright lights and the vibe… I think that’s something I couldn’t live without. I kept asking my relatives how they can live like that and they said that it’s getting used to and adapting to your environment. I think I can if I don’t have a choice.
But being the city girl that I am, I will probably find my way back to the city way of life.

When you live in the city, you miss the greens and the fresh air and the mountains. We normally take the time to go on a vacation in the countryside. But with the state of the economy plus the high cost of tuition fees prevented us from our annual vacation this year. It will have to take a backseat for now. I have to save for my brother’s college fees as well as save up for the rainy days ahead. Who knows until when this global financial crisis will last, right?
For now, I have to content myself looking at photos of the countryside like this. Next year, hopefully, we’ll be able to see more greens again.

There is a noticeable slump because of the feared Influenza A N1H1 virus, or most commonly known as the Swine Flu. Less people are traveling. Less people are going out. Good thing there are no known cases of the virus here in the country as of today. Otherwise, there will surely be a panic. I mean, who really trusts the government when they say they are ready, right? No one, I tell you!
In the office, you can see corners of desks with bottles of alcohol, alcogel, hand sanitizers and other anti-bacterial products. Prevention is better than cure, which is the best thing we should all be thinking about.

Well, who doesn’t want a view of the Eiffel Tower when you look out your window? I would want that! In fact, I would love to be in Paris now and walking on cobbled stones towards one of the most popular tourist attractions in the world.
How I wish I have the means to be there now…
Happy Monday everyone!
Keep on dreaming and traveling.

It really is the perfect time to hit the beach. For the past couple of days, the weather in the city has gone up! It’s been really hot and if you don’t have an air conditioner at home like me, then you are surely being toasted inside your homes. I can’t imagine what it’s like going out especially at noon. Yikes!
If you have the chance, go to the beach and relax. If you are stuck at home without aircon, use the electric fan. Or get a block of ice! Shower as often as needed as well. And if you are unlucky to be under the sun at high noon, good luck to you! Go to the nearest shake stand and buy yourself a big cup.
Have a great sun-shiny week!

Pedestrians are rushing and running to the other side of the street. They are playing a cat-and-mouse game with the vehicles on the road, not minding the fact that many others who played the same game have either been injured or dead. As the MMDA sign says… Do not cross the street as someone already died doing so.
Now my question is this… why not bring back the stoplights? It will prevent vehicles and motorcycles from overspeeding. It can prevent the drivers from thinking they own the streets! It can prevent pedestrians from playing cat-and-mouse games, crossing streets even with the danger of getting hit by speeding vehicles.
I say bring back the stoplights!

I love city life. I love the hustle and bustle that it brings. I love the noise and the hum of the city. I think I am not the only one who feels this way.
I have grown up in the city so I think that’s mainly the reason why I feel such attachment to city life. Days in the countryside would leave me restless and yearning for the chaos that is the city. I’ve tried it so many times and each and every time I stay at the countryside, I feel the same way.
I know there are times when I also yearn for some peace and quiet. I think it’s but natural for any human being to feel that way. But peace and quiet for a day or two is enough. More than that then I’d feel as if I am transported into another planet.
Do you feel the same way towards living in the city? Or are you a country person?

I don’t know if you’ve been noticing it but city life is becoming costlier than it already is!
If you are single like me, 100 pesos is not enough to last you until noon. How much more if you are feeding more than your own mouth? Can you imagine what it is like with families that have more than two kids? I can imagine the financial burden the breadwinners of those families are experiencing.
To be able to live a normal life and eat three meals a day, a person needs to have at least 200 pesos for food and transportation. A family needs to have at least 300 pesos to last the whole day. If you have more than two kids, factor that in and you will need more than that. If you are earning minimum wage only, you will surely be neck-deep in debt before you get your paycheck!
There are days when I feel the need to pack my bags and try my luck in the province. Or anywhere with a lower cost of living. But it would be too risky to do that.
How are you faring in this city we all live in?

It’s raining outside now. Today is supposed to be a good weather day according to the local weather agency but well, the weather changed.
It would have been really good to go back to bed and sleep the morning off. Or curl on the sofa and read a good book. But there’s tons of things to do and errands to run today so I have to fight off this sleep enveloping my mind and body. I think I will go shake my booty a bit to wake myself up!
Happy rainy Friday everyone! Stay safe!
