The good life

This coming year, one of my goals is getting a cheap car insurance for the car that we have. I will also get life insurances for me and my dad. I want to do the right thing this coming year. I want to start living the good life. I am 30 now and living the right way is something that I should focus on from now on.

Baby shower

My cousin will be giving birth in three months’ time. As early as now, we are preparing a baby shower party for her. I am talking to our other cousins so that the baby shower gifts we will giving her will form part of the nursery already. The party planner

I am currently racking my brain for party ideas. Two of my cousins will be celebrating their wedding anniversaries this coming September. Both cousins, with just a week in between. Since both of them claims that I am their favorite cousin, and I am known among family and friends as the party planner, they are leaving me with the responsibility of organizing an anniversary party for both of them!

I don’t know when this started, my propensity for organizing parties. All I can remember is being thrilled to be asked to help prepare family parties. I love suggesting ideas to make a party lively and fun till the end. When I turned seventeen, I just found myself organizing kiddie parties of my little cousins. That started this trend of assigning me that role.

One of the cousins I mentioned will be celebrating 10th wedding anniversary. It will be huge because my cousin-in-law, the husband, wants a really big party. The couple are still in love with each other and they want the whole world to know about it. I envy them, truth to tell. The other cousin will be celebrating their 3rd wedding anniversary. In contrast with the other party, this one will be a simple brunch for family and friends.

Doubting Bessie

Bessie paints. She sketches as well. With her many works of art, we’ve been pestering her to display some of it. Even those ones she is willing to display for everyone to see. We are asking her to put some of her sketches in picture frames, especially those sensual sketches that she did. A work of art indeed, I tell you! I will see if I can convince her to put up even one of it here. She is a bit shy with her works and we are really hoping that she overcomes it. She is really good. She just cannot accept that fact yet.

A now famous friend

I was reading a magazine when I was shocked to see the face of a long lost friend of mine. Apparently, she is a big person nowadays, quite popular with tv networks here in the country. She’s doing closed captioning and is best known for writing a best selling novel about an abused celebrity in the country. It was a joy actually to read about all her achievements. And how she rose above the challenges that she faced along the way.

Mom’s Day

I love my mom! If it wasn’t for her (and my dad, of course) I would not be here, alive and kicking! My mom loves me unconditionally. When I was a kid, my dad was really the strict one. If I did something wrong and my mom knew my dad will get mad at me, she will make sure to talk to dad first so that he wouldn’t get too hard on me. And my young mind retained those memories of my mom being my mediator.

Now that I am a grown up already, my mom is still there for me whenever I need her. I live on my own now, away from my parents.
