The neighborhood field

I remember when I was a kid I use to play soccer with my friends. Living in a rural area where the neighborhood field was situated, we only use coconut leaves as our soccer ball and make do with whatever we had. It did not matter what equipments we used as long as we were enjoying the game.

I can see myself in my little cousin. Being a sports fan I have no choice but to encourage my cousin in his interest in sports. The good old times

Do you know, Baseball Gloves remind me of my youth. How I would sneak out during siesta hours just to play bat with my other cousins, older than me. I love hitting that ball and running and running. My pair of baseball gloves when I was a kid that was given to me by an uncle is still with me. It sits at a good position in my bedroom. Just looking at it brings good memories of summer afternoons spent playing and playing until I feel my limbs aching. It was a great many memories that I cherish.

So now when I see the little cousins and kids in the neighborhood playing baseball, I would normally stop and watch them play. Sometimes, especially on weekends, I would bring out my baseball bat and play with them. My sisters laugh at me when I do that but deep down in my heart, the little kid in me is really happy. I was asked before that had I not taken up a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics degree, what would I be? I told them that I might have been a baseball coach. I would love to see those baseball gloves on kids and baseball bats and teach them how to have some fun!

Men sports

Baseball is a sports that the men in the family enjoys a lot. Basketball and boxing as well. Whenever there is a big game that we all know will come up, the women in the family will organize a potluck so that there will be a mini gathering in one of the houses of the uncles. Or most likely, it will be held in my parents’ house. We have an hdtv at home and it is great to watch big games there. Plus the sound surround speakers that my dad bought recently will add a level of fun to their viewing experience.

So there is no surprise when the little kids clamor for a game of baseball whenever they are together. And being together is every afternoon when they get to play at the subdivision playgrounds. There is a small lot there that they use as their playing field.

One of my older cousins took pity and asked us to chip in so we can buy the young ones some Baseball Equipment that we can put in the backyard. No need for them to go to the subdivision park to play in the vacant lot. They only need to go to our backyard and play to their hearts’ delight.

A Social Network for Golfers

My uncle Dong introduced my dad to the world of golf. My dad is actually more of an indoor type of person. He plays chess, domino, backgammon, card games… you get my drift. But I get my love for water sports from him. So whenever our busy schedules permit, we indulge ourselves with a good old dose of water sports. He particularly loves sailing and rowing. Playing golf

My dad plays golf. Not regularly but he makes it a point to play at least three to four times a month. Most of is friends play almost every other day. But since my dad is busy with the auto shop, he really cannot play golf that much.
