Some ideas in Stockholm A walk through the Royal PalaceA walk through the grand old halls, where kings and queens once lived and worked, creates an imagination of the grand and formal feeling. With 608 rooms, the Royal Palace in Gamla Stan, Stockholm is perhaps one of biggest in Europe. Part of the Palace is built upon the remains of the first palace, Tre Kronor, which was almost destroyed in a fire in 1697. The centre was built on the grounds of an old railway station close to the Oslo City Hall where the Nobel Peace Prize award ceremony is held on the 10th of December each year. The centre provides an exhibition of documents from the past Peace Prize winners and Alfred Nobel’s effort to heighten awareness for resolving conflicts and wars, hoping to achieve world peace. The centre has a café and shop.
